Di Cosgrove cycles 65 miles in aid of Red Earth Education
Well House B&B owner, Di Cosgrove, cycled 65 miles from Birmingham to Oxford on 6th July in aid of RedEarth Education, the educational charity that she runs with two friends. Although youthful, Di admits she is not a teenager any more so, with only one 4-mile practice ride in preparation, she is delighted with her achievement which raised over £600 in sponsorship towards RedEarth. Di says "I wouldn't have managed it but for the encouragement of my nephew, Rob, who cycled alongside me all the way and lied through his teeth throughout the trip by telling me that we had covered far more miles than was actually the case."

At the time of writing (29th July 2009), Di is in rural Uganda with her colleagues visiting primary schools deep in the bush, training Ugandan teachers in ways of improving their teaching delivery. When she returns to Well House B&B near Knighton, her priority wil be to arise funds for next year's work in Uganda.
